Potty training battles

1. Some days she wants to try and other days she doesn't care how much candy you bribe her with, a soggy diaper is fine

2. She could care less about the patterns available for pull-ups  (all I can find are Ariel and Doc McStuffins - Minnie seems to only be in a giant box of other patterns in a size that is too big size) and therefore could care less if she pees on them, plus those disappearing images seem to take a lot of pee to make work right, so they are basically just pull on diapers - which they make but I haven't seen in her size in stores

3. maybe the right pattern will work - at the store we picked some generic princess fairy pull ups (from Walmart, she didn't want the generic flowers and frogs ones I found at Target and we don't watch Dora so that was out) and she wanted a pink ladybug potty, I was hoping to stay gender-neutral to reuse for Eli but if she will go on the ladybug, whatever works, it doesn't have a splash-guard so maybe that will help

4. She wants to jump straight to the pretty underwear we bought but still doesn't want to sit on the potty, sorry ponies but she doesn't seem to care about peeing on you either

5. Oma found some cute training underwear (the thick ones that absorb) maybe those are the key, I am sure they will at least come in handy

6. Maybe we just aren't ready still, good thing preschool is still awhile away.

7. Anyone have advice that doesn't involve a naked toddler for three days? At this point I don't think even that will work, plus I am sure that will involve pee on the floor.

Oct 4th -10 mos + Nov 4th -11 mos

October was a busy month, so no 10 mo post. Daddy was very busy at work and Grandma came to visit us from Indiana. We are very speedy at crawling and trying to climb into everything. We had to take the exersaucer away because she keep falling while climbing all over the outside of it. Also gave up on "baby playland" enclosure and moved the ottomans to protect her from things and just watch her more closely as she crawls/cruises around. She is cruising now with just one hand on things and on occasion takes individual steps unassisted before falling down. So walking may not be far away. Grandma got us to play by rolling a ball back and forth, so that is a fun thing to do,for  as long as our attention span is anyway.

Eating more and even enjoying some diced food, mostly when it is mixed into our purees. Willing to trying more and more of mommy and daddy's food when allowed.

Making elephant noises with Daddy is one of our favorite things right now.

Planning is in the works to hopefully make our Holiday trip to visit Oma and Opa as smooth as possible with a 1 year old. Any tips are appreciated.

So we discussed the bag for the delivery, but what about the diaper bag. What should be in the diaper bag? What are those things you dont want to forget? What are those little things that make running errands with the little one easier? What are your favorite diaper bag products?

Recipe Ideas

So I need some ideas for easy meals Patrick (or I) can make after the little one arrives. Patrick can cook, but it is bachelor cooking, but he can follow a basic recipe.  After years of being in the Army there are very few convience foods that he will eat, so I can't just go get a Stouffers lasagna. We plan to get a new Foreman grill, since he is comfortable with that. I have a started a collection of Crock-pot and Dutch-oven recipes.  I have several good casserole type recipes but I have never tried to freeze them, so I am not sure how they will thaw, plus we dont have a very big freezer. I want to try to stocking up on as many recipe ingredients as possible now, so we dont have much to get at the grocery store afterwards.

So what are your favorite easy recipes?
